In 2022 Jake Rawlins had the realization that there was something missing in the elderly care industry. There was a group of people who were stuck at home, often alone, who weren't quite ready to be in an assisted living all day every day. But these people would greatly benefit from getting together with other friends and doing activities that help keep them sharp and enjoying life. That is where the inspiration for Poppy's Place came from.
Jake first had to get his wife on board with the dream. Lexie Rawlins was a full time nurse that worked with elderly patients everyday and had been for years. She has a special gift for caring for the senior community. She quickly saw the impact a facility like Poppy's Place could have on our community. So together they set off on a new entrepreneurial journey.
They created a LLC and opened up a new business account. They searched for months for the perfect location for Poppy's Place. It had to be just right to ensure the right atmosphere for their clients. They found a place that would work but would need a little elbow grease. Together they spent many late nights fixing the place up and getting it just they way they had envisioned. Finally they were ready for Poppy's Place to open and they could start living their dream. They could fill a need in the senior industry and provide first class care for the elderly. They could love and serve those in the senior community that were alone or needed a friend or caregiver.
