If you've lived in Utah for long, you know how much there is to do in this beautiful state. As you or your loved ones get older, you might feel like tired, bored, or trapped at home watching TV. Don't let getting older get you down! Staying active and engaged in the community can drastically improve the quality of life for aging adults.
If you are looking to get outside and enjoy a beautiful garden, check out Ashton Gardens. It is a beautiful 50 acre garden made up of 17 separate gardens and an amazing waterfall. Each season they have different events that make going multiple times a year a great option. In May is there iconic tulip festival, a must see for all!
Another great outdoor activity is to visit one of Utah's beautiful state parks. Seniors can purchase a discounted pass that will allow you to visit any of the state parks. Some of the nearby parks that would be good to check out are:
Jordanelle State Park in Kamas
Timpanogas Caves in Provo
Deer Creek State Park in Wallsburg
Antelope Island in Syracuse
Do you or your loved ones enjoy baking? Seniors always have the best recipes to share with others! If you enjoy baking or want to learn something new, look for baking classes near you. Provo city has baking classes that they offer for only $25. Each class they cover cooking different things like soups, Mexican food, Italian Food, even Vegetarian food. Click the title above too see what classes are coming up!
Visit a Farmers Market
Farmers markets are always filled with unique talent and a variety of fun things you could find. Unlike most states, Utah has farmers markets in almost every city! They mostly happen on the weekends during good weather months. Here is a list of some farmers markets that may be close to you:

This pirate-themed Halloween cruise is perfect for seniors and their families. Only 20-25 minutes long, it’s a great way to enjoy festive surroundings while sitting comfortably in a wheelchair-accessible riverboat. With 100 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns for your viewing pleasure, this river outing is a real treat.
If your are looking for an activity to see our beautiful state, try going for a scenic drive. Two well known drive that everyone needs to see are the Nebo Loop and the Alpine loop. Be ready for slow narrow roads that wind their way through some of the most beautiful canyons in the state. And if it happens to be fall, you're in for a real treat as you enjoy the leaves of the aspen and cottonwood trees changing with the weather.
